Your thoughts have an impact on how well you cope with life challenges.  Noticing what you think about when situations arise and making adjustments, when appropriate, may make that journey easier.  This week is about whether you go to the past, imagine what may happen in the future, or deal with the situation from the present moment.

 Quote

"There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done.  One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live." -- Dalai Lama

There has been so much talk about time travel, yet you do it every day.  Anytime you are thinking about the past or future you are not living in the present moment.  You are traveling though time in your mind.  Sure, you want to learn from the past and have hope for the future, but that can't help you today.

Today's Coaching Challenge

When faced with a challenge do you revert to the way you've always done something, try to imagine what it could be like, or just realize that every solution depends on what is happening to you at this moment?  Think of how much more effective you can be when you just deal with what is happening now as it is showing up.

Action to take

When you catch yourself thinking about the past or future, stop for a moment and just look at where you are and what you're doing.  Are you at your computer, walking outside, or driving your car?  Noticing what is happening right now pulls back to the present moment.  The more you use this technique the more time you will spend in the present, which is the only place where you can change your life.

Always supporting you,                                                                                                                                                                                                  Jan
